Oscar debutant Deepika Padukone sports her new tattoo decked in black classic gown
Mumbai/IBNS: Deepika Padukone not only made India proud as she made her Oscars debut being a presenter on stage but the Pathaan actress also showcased her tattoo for the first time.
The 95th Academy Awards has already been a big deal for India as Naatu Naatu song from RRR and The Elephant Whisperers won in two different categories making the country proud.
Deepika Padukone, dressed in a black classic Louis Vuitton gown, was a vision on stage as she introduced the Naatu Naatu song's live performance.
She shared a couple of pictures of her look on Instagram and sporting not only her dress and hairdo but also a new tattoo on her neck that reads "82°E" (which also happens to be the name of her skincare brand).
Her introductory speech of Naatu Naatu was also highly appreciated as she said: "An irresistibly catchy chorus, electrifying beats and killer dance moves to match have made this song a global sensation. It plays during a pivotal scene in 'RRR', a movie about the friendship between real-life Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. In addition to being sung in Telugu and illustrating the film's anti-colonialist themes, it's also a total banger."
Signing off, the actress said, "It's earned millions of views on Youtube and Tik Tok. Has audiences dancing in movie theatres all around the world and is also the first song ever from Indian production to be nominated for an Oscar. Do you know Naatu? Because if you don't you're about to. From the film RRR this is Naatu Naatu."
The song from the Telugu language film RRR bagged the 95th Academy Awards in the Best Original Song category.
The Elephant Whisperers was the first honour for India at the Oscars as it won in the Best Documentary Short Subject category.
