Pakistani actor Anoushey Ashraf shuts netizens who trolled her for praising SRK over Pathaan success
Pakistani actor Anoushey Ashraf has slammed the section of netizens who have trolled her for calling Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan "a universal superstar" over the massive success of Hindi film Pathaan.
In a social media post, Anoushey wrote, "As much as people dislike him, as much as Pakistani's feel we shouldn't promote 'Bollywood', for me, SRK is a universal superstar.
"As artists we believe we connect to people beyond our borders (which is an awful man made concept) the world only knows us as humans and this human has done remarkable stuff and speaks ever so eloquently! Forever a fan!"
However, the post didn't go down well with a section of Pakistani netizens who felt that the actor tried to get noticed by Shah Rukh Khan, a massively popular star in India.
Shutting the trolls, Anoushey said as quoted by The Times of India, "There are many ways to get noticed. Stars have universal love, respect and appeal and so we speak about them. But Pakistanis in general have this hate deep-seated in them.
"God knows what satisfaction they get from that, but to an outsider, it speaks volumes of a hardened, deprived and negative mindset."
Starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham alongside SRK, Pathaan has created history in the box office earning Rs. 429 crore in just four days since its release.
The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films.
