Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is for middle class: Director Raaj Shaandilyaa
Mumbai/IBNS: Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video's trailer has created quite a splash on social media where scenes from the film are trending already.
The comedy film is centred on a CD carrying intimate moments of a couple going missing leaving the newly-wed run seeking a probe followed by several twists.
Speaking of the film, director Raaj Shaandilya told Midday, "The idea was that a huge population of our country is coy, yet children are born every second. We are living in a world where any video can go viral within seconds. So, we decided to make a film for the middle class that has a message with a lot of humour and romance.
"I also wanted to explore the plight of the people at whose expense we laugh. (At the same time), we wanted to explore how people from small towns facing this dilemma would feel."
Raaj had previously directed Rajkummar in films Dream Girl and Dream Girl 2.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, which is produced by T-Series, Balaji Telefilms, Wakaao Films and Thinkink Picturez, also features Vijay Raaz and Mallika Sherawat in key roles.
On casting Mallika, Raaj said, "Mallika was surprised that I had thought of her. She loved the narration and said that she was waiting for someone to offer her a [strong and fun] character like that."
The film is scheduled to release on October 11.
