Rupam Islam performs first Rabindra Sangeet Keno Chokher Jole for Bengali film Ami Jokhon Hema Malini
Kolkata/IBNS: Popular Bengali rock music icon Rupam Islam performed his first Rabindra Sangeet, “Keno Chokher Jole”, for the film Ami Jokhon Hema Malini.
The movie, directed by Paramita Munsi and starring veteran actor Chiranjeet Chakraborty, released its music last week.
Singer Rupam Islam said, “This is my first marketed Rabindra Sangeet in a Bengali motion picture. I hope people will appreciate our efforts and the song. And moreover, this is a tribute to the legendary Rabindranath Tagore.”

Veteran actor Chiranjeet Chakraborty said, “If we talk about this song, shooting the entire music sequence depends on the director to sync the lips with the song.
"At the end when the edited version comes out, it's like magic. I personally feel like it's perfect and goes perfectly with the situation.”

The film gathers an ensemble cast including Chaiti Ghoshal, Rahul Arunadoy Banerjee, Kanchana Moitra, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Debleena Dutt and others.
The movie is set for theatrical release soon.
