Los Angeles/IBNS: Veteran Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday evening, according to media reports.
Authorities said the couple was reportedly stabbed to death, and the case is being investigated as culpable homicide.
Reacting to the tragedy, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass wrote on X:"This is a devastating loss for our city and our country. Rob Reiner’s contributions reverberate throughout American culture and society, and he has improved countless lives through his creative work and advocacy fighting for social and economic justice. An acclaimed actor, director, producer, writer, and engaged political activist, he always used his gifts in service of others."

Bass added that she was personally heartbroken, highlighting Reiner and Singer’s advocacy for early childhood development and LGBTQ+ rights, including efforts to overturn Proposition 8. She also thanked first responders and said the investigation is ongoing.
California Governor Gavin Newsom also expressed his condolences, writing on X: "Rob will be remembered for his remarkable filmography and for his extraordinary contribution to humanity."
