Mumbai/IBNS: Deepika Padukone’s sharp response to trolls has failed to silence questions over her apparent lack of public support for husband Ranveer Singh’s latest film Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
German actress based in India Suzanne Bernert has now criticised Deepika for not openly praising the blockbuster.

What’s the matter?
Online users had called out Deepika for not publicly appreciating or posting about Ranveer’s performance in the film, which has received widespread praise.
As several celebrities lauded the movie, netizens speculated over Deepika’s silence and the absence of any visible social media acknowledgement of her husband’s work.
How did Deepika react?
An Instagram page, Culture Circle, shared a reel questioning Deepika’s silence, noting that she skipped the film’s premiere and attended a concert instead.
The post asked whether her silence was a subtle statement against the director or an attempt to avoid online controversy.
Responding to the March 23 post, Deepika wrote: “The latter, my friend… P.S. I watched it way before any of you did… Now who is the joke on?”

What did Suzanne Bernert say?
Bernert, in a post on X, dismissed Deepika’s response and questioned her decision not to publicly praise the film.
“Dear Deepika. This isn’t a flex! We are still waiting for you to openly praise your husband. I don’t understand why you are not doing it,” she wrote.

About the film
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a nearly four-hour-long film blending high-octane action with political drama.
Released on March 19, the film features Ranveer Singh as a powerful figure who takes control of Pakistan’s Lyari town following the death of gangster Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna.
The trailer also hints at Singh playing dual roles—Jaskirat Singh Rangi and Hamza—adding further depth to the narrative.
