Asian Games 2023: Indian shooters bag medals on Day 6 led by Palak with gold
Hangzhou/UNI: Indian shooters Palak and Esha Singh bagged gold and silver medals, respectively, in the women's 10m air pistol individual final at the Asian Games 2023 here on Friday.

The 17-year-old Palak broke the Asian Games record with a 242.1 score while Esha Singh, 18, notched 239.7.
The duo had also featured in the women's 10m air pistol silver medal-winning team earlier in the day. Indian shooters have now clinched 17 medals at Hangzhou, surpassing the 14-medal haul from the 2006 Asian Games at Doha.
Meanwhile, shooters Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Suresh Kusale and Akhil Sheoran clinched the gold medal in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions team event. The Indian team also shattered the world record, previously held by the United States of America, with 1769 points. China took silver and the Republic of Korea won bronze.
Aishwary and Swapnil also made the 50m rifle three positions individual final with a joint-qualification Asian record score. However, Akhil missed out on the final due to the two players' national rule, Olympic.com reported.
Palak, Esha Singh and Divya Thadigol Subbaraju won the silver medal in the women's 10m air pistol team event at the Hangzhou 2023.
They shot a combined score of 1731, just five points short of Team China, who shattered the Asian Games record en route to clinching the gold medal. Chinese Taipei's shooters settled for bronze.
