England ride on Root, Stokes to dominate Manchester Test against India

Manchester/IBNS: Joe Root's 38th hundred powered England to establish an absolute dominance over India on the third day of the fourth Test in Manchester on Friday.
Root slammed 150 off 248 balls (14 fours) to become the second highest Test run scorer, standing only behind cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
While Ollie Pope, who was Root's overnight partner, was dismissed for 71, England captain Ben Stokes remained unbeaten at 77 when the hosts finished at a mammoth 544-7 at stumps.
On a day where not much was there to speak of India's bowling, allrounder Ravindra Jadeja picked two wickets including the vital one of Root.
Washington Sundar bagged two for himself while India unsuccessfully toiled the entire day to wrap up the English innings.
Trailing England 1-2 in the five-match series, India were bowled out for 358 in the first innings.
Losing in Manchester is an absolute non-negotiable for India as that would deny them a chance to even square the series.
