Ex-Indian captain and spinning icon Bishan Singh Bedi dies
Former Indian captain and iconic spinner Bishan Singh Bedi passed away on Monday (October 22, 2023).
He was 77.
The left-arm spinner played Test cricket for India from 1966 to 1979.
He was part of the famous Indian spin quartet.
The other three bowlers of the spinning quartet included Erapalli Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar, and S. Venkataraghavan.
He played a total of 67 Tests and took 266 wickets.
Bedi captained the Indian squad in 22 Tests.
He was awarded the Padma Shri award in 1970 and the C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
