India's "B" team in the Seniors event, represented by Hemant K. Jalan, Sukamal Das, Rajesh Dalal, Jitendra Solani, Anil Padhye and Raju Tolani, reached the semifinals after topping the Swiss League with 188.78 Victory Points (VPs).

Meanwhile, India's Men's "A" team comprising Subhas Gupta, Sandeep Thakral, Sumit Mukherjee, Rajeshwar Tiwari, Sagnik Roy and Kaustabh Nandi also advanced to the last-four stage, finishing third with 186.47 VPs.

The Chinese Men's team, living up to expectations, finished at the top of the league table with 218.31 VPs.

They were followed by Hong Kong China "A" with 196.72 VPs. Bangladesh "B" also secured a semifinal berth by finishing fourth with 174.24 VPs. India's Men's "B" team, however, failed to make the cut, scoring 170.45 VPs.

In the Seniors event, besides India "B", Australia (166.99 VPs), Japan (146.94 VPs) and Chinese Taipei (146.60 VPs) completed the semifinal line-up. India "A" finished sixth with 139.75 VPs.

The Mixed event was dominated by China, with both its "A" and "B" teams advancing to the knockout stage after finishing first and second with 169.23 and 163.92 VPs respectively.

The other two semifinalists in this category are Hong Kong China (155.43 VPs) and Australia (141.14 VPs).

India "B" narrowly missed out on a semifinal berth, finishing fifth with 135.90 VPs, while India "A" ended in 11th place with 113.77 VPs.

All semifinals will be played on Friday. Each semifinal match will consist of three sessions of 16 boards each.
