Rohit Sharma's Ranji Trophy return sees an extension of his poor form
Mumbai/IBNS: India captain Rohit Sharma's much-talked-about return to domestic cricket met with utter disappointment as the star batter lasted for only 19 balls in a Ranji Trophy match between Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir.
Rohit scored three from 19 balls when he departed, failing to tackle a short ball off Umar Nazir of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Kashmiri players erupted in joy on the ground while Rohit's opening bid to return to form fell flat at the BKC Ground.
Earlier in the day, Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first.
Rohit's opening partner even in the national side, Yashasvi Jaiswal also fell cheaply as he walked back to the dressing room for just four runs.

Rohit's comeback into the domestic circuit was much hyped as the India captain struggled with the bat for long and failed miserably in Australia.
In a rare instance, Rohit as a captain had warmed the bench in the fifth and final Test against Australia handing over the leadership charge to his deputy, Jasprit Bumrah.
In 2015, when he played a Ranji Trophy match for the last time, the India captain had scored 113 against Uttar Pradesh.
