Saina Nehwal announces separation from Parupalli Kashyap, says 'we're choosing peace, growth and healing...'
Bengaluru/IBNS: India's star badminton player Saina Nehwal has announced her separation from husband Parupalli Kashyap.

The Olympic bronze medalist on Sunday provided a personal life update on Instagram where she said the two have taken the decision "choosing peace, growth, and healing" for both.
In a note which she shared on an Instagram story, "Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways.
"We’re choosing peace, growth, and healing—for ourselves and each other. I’m grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time."

The former World No. 1 tied the knot with Kashyap, who was also a badminton player, in 2018.
They had been in a relationship for several years before tying the knot in a private ceremony in Hyderabad. The ceremony was attended by close friends and family.
Both Saina and Kashyap have represented India in numerous international tournaments and have trained together at the Pullela Gopichand Academy.
While Saina won the bronze medal in her second appearance in the Olympics in London in 2012, Kashyap won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
