Smriti Mandhana’s wedding cancelled! Jemimah Rodrigues’ Instagram story has everyone talking
Mumbai/IBNS: Indian star cricketer Smriti Mandhana on Sunday announced the cancellation of her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal, ending weeks of speculation surrounding her personal life.
In a statement posted on social media, Smriti said, “Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off.”
The wedding had been scheduled for November 23, 2025, but was postponed indefinitely after her father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a medical emergency. Palash Muchhal was also reportedly hospitalized due to health issues.
The decision comes amid a social media firestorm triggered by leaked chats allegedly showing Palash in flirtatious conversations with choreographer Mary D’Costa.
Screenshots circulated online, leading to widespread speculation about the couple’s relationship. These claims have not been independently verified, and the original Reddit thread containing the screenshots has since been deleted.
Soon after Smriti’s announcement, her teammate Jemimah Rodrigues shared a cryptic Instagram story featuring a group of young singers performing Olivia Dean’s song “Man I Need”. Jemimah also unfollowed Palash on social media, prompting further discussion among netizens.
Neither Smriti Mandhana nor Palash Muchhal has publicly responded to the alleged chats.
