Altogether 23 drug peddlers and users were arrested in different parts of Agartala city on Friday during a special anti-drug drive by police personnel of East Agartala police station.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of East Agartala police station, Krishnadhan Sarkar said that the police forces from College Tilla, MG Bazar outposts along with personnel from East Agartala PS jointly raided at many locations of the city and managed to arrest altogether 23 drug peddlers and users.
He said that as per the directive of the higher authorities, police carried out the special anti-drug drive on Friday and they will continue the operations in all suspected areas under the East Agartala police station.
He said that during the raids, many vials filled with suspected Brown Sugar and empty syringes were recovered under their possessions.
