ADG-BSF visits village ahead of fence in Boxanagar

Ravi Gandhi, ADG, Eastern Command of BSF along with Patel Piyush Purushottam Das, IG BSF of Tripura Frontier on Saturday visited Boxanagar border outpost (BOP) and adjoining border areas.

The ADG took a Pprahari Sammelan’ at BOP Boxanagar in which he interacted with the officers and ‘Seema Praharis’ including the ‘Mahila Praharis’ on the various operational issues being faced at the ground level. He also directed the field commanders to take all necessary steps to curb the menace of trans-border crime, including illegal migration of Bangladeshi nationals.

After the Prahri Sammelan, Ravi Gandhi, along with the IG visited Nagar village in Boxanagar, which is ahead of border fence near gate number 185-A.  He was given a warm welcome there by the villagers. He had a detailed interaction with the villagers and enquired about the problems being faced by them and he further assured them of all assistance from BSF. It is pertinent to mention here that there are 43 such villages in Tripura having more than 4600 living ahead of fence. These villages are highly prone to border crimes from trans border criminals and challenging in terms of border management and BSF is fully committed to their safety and security.  The ADG further left for Kolkata in the evening.
