After polls, sudden rise of stolen incidents, causes concern

The stolen incidents in different parts of the state after February 16 assembly elections are on rise and every day, there are reports of theft incidents.
Sources said that in the wee hours of Saturday, a group of dacoits raided the house of Jitu Ranjan Bhakta at Rajapur Kanaibari village of Charilam under Sepahijala district of the state.
After entering the house, dacoits with lethal weapons started looting all valuable items and had also seriously injured the house owner.
Later, hearing hue and cry, neighbours and other villagers rushed to the spot and they informed the police. Villagers have also shifted Jitu Ranjan Bhakta to Bishalgarh hospital. Police arrived at the spot with a sniper dog and started an investigation. Till last report, police were unable to get any lead over the dacoity incident.
In another incident, the local people of Paul Para of Aralia under East Agartala police station on Saturday morning managed to detain a theft, who was involved in the stolen incident held at the house one Subrata Debnath of the same lane, in which thieves had stolen away large quantities of valuable items on Friday night.
Angry residents of Paul Para detained one of the thieves involved in the incident from Muslim Para area of Aralia and based on the statement of the detained thief, the house owner had also recovered some items including some brass made images of God and Goddess from a shop.
But, after three hours, police did not arrive at the spot and angry villagers severely manhandled the detained thief.
Reports also said that the stolen incident had also been reported during the past one week from many parts of the state including from the capital city.
