Agartala City police handed over 11 stolen gold chains to its owners
In a good gesture and an act like a Good Samaritan, the police personnel of New Capital Complex (NCC) police station of Agartala on Wednesday handed over 11 snatched gold chains to its owners after recovering these chains from possessions of snatchers.
On August 27 last, the Agartala city police in its biggest recovery had recovered 30 stolen gold chains and arrested two snatchers, who along with their other gang members had committed the crime from various parts of the city and snatched dozens of gold chains from the neck of women.
While, giving details , officer-in-charge (OC) of NCC police station, Sushanta Deb said that based on the complaints received from number of women after their gold chains were snatched from different parts of the city, police had managed to recovered altogether 30 gold chains in last part of August and has also arrested two snatchers, who are now in jail custody.
After recovering the stolen gold chains and based on the complaints, police have identified 11 gold chains belonging to 11 ladies, who are the residents of different parts of the city, said Deb and added that after proper verification, on Wednesday police has returned back the gold chains to its real owners.
Speaking with media persons, 11 women who got back their stolen chains appreciated their efforts of the police and said they have already lost their hopes to return back their valuable gold chains. But, the Agartala city police proved that they are hard-working and have determination to curb crimes committed in and around the city.
