In another successful operation, the Agartala city police on Wednesday has arrested a big gang of thieves, involved with multiple stolen incidents in and around the city.
Giving details, SDPO (Sadar) Debaprasad Roy said that a big gang thieves involved with many stolen cases, committed across the city and its adjoining areas and officers of East and West Agartala police station were entrusted with the task to arrest all of them to put a curb on stolen cases.
As per the assigned task, the police personnel of both police stations managed to arrest seven thieves on Tuesday midnight and recovered many stolen accessories including iron cutters, hammers and other sharp weapons under their possession, said Roy.
He added that police have also recovered a few stolen items including water pumps under their possessions. All arrested thieves were produced before a local court on Wednesday with police remand appeals for further interrogation to get details of the crime network and to arrest other miscreants involved with their gang.
