Arrested dacoit gang leader Nazim Uddin and his gang responsible for all dacoity incidents, SP (North)
Criminal dacoit gang leader, who was arrested by North Tripura police in the wee hours of Friday after a gun battle, is responsible for all the recently committed dacoity incidents in North Tripura district and 3 incidents committed at Agartala in the current month of March.
Giving details of the successful operation of the police, which has given sigh of relief to the people of state, SP(North Tripura), Banupada Chakraborty along with senior police officials of the district and arrested dacoit gang leader Nazim Uddin (35) of North Fulbari village of Churaibari said that he has been produced before a local court with seven days police remand appeals and court sent him for five days police remand for interrogation .
Chakraborty said that police said registered a specific case under section 120(B), 399,400,353,325,307, 506 of IPC and section 25(1-B) and 27(2) of Arms Act at Bagbasa police station and all the investigation team involved with recently committed many dacoity incidents will interrogate arrested criminal, said Chakraborty.
Giving details of the operation, Chakraborty said that police are tracking the activities of dacoity gang led by arrested Nazim Uddain and police also regularly tracking their mobile locations, said Chakraborty and added that finally, in the wee hours of Friday before they commit fresh dacoity, police team managed to locate them at North Ganganagar. After being challenged, miscreants fired from their country made guns targeting police personnel and in retaliation, police also fired in blank.
During chasing dacoit gang, one miscreant identified as Niyaz Uddain managed to escaped from the spot taking the advantage of darkness, while police has arrested their gang leader Nazim Uddai, who along with his team has also responsible for dacoity incidents held at Agartala and few areas of North Tripura district. Police has also recovered two country made guns, 3 ‘dao’ and few cutters under his possession.
The SP said that the investigation team will collect all the information related to other members of the gang and will take steps to collect the gold and cash, which were looted through their committed crimes. Chakraborty said that the investigation teams will also arrange a Test Identification (TI) parade for identification of arrested Nazim Uddain.
