Arrested Rohingyas link with terrorists, manhunt launched to detain other traffickers

Infamous human trafficker, who was arrested by North Tripura district police for trafficking of 25 Rohingyas has revealed many startling revelation and police are now looking to arrest a gang of human traffickers actively involved for trafficking of Bangladeshi and Rohingyas inside Indian territory.
Police sources said that based on the interrogation statements of arrested Rohingyas, they have managed to arrest a kingpin of a human trafficking network from Unakoti district, who was actively involved with trafficking of Bangladeshi and Rohingyas.
Police arrested 25 Rohingyas including six women and seven children in two different places of North Tripura district on July 4th and 5th before they boarded buses to first go to Guwahati then to Hyderabad by train in search of jobs.
As per the interrogation statements of arrested Rohingyas, police arrested a kingpin of human trafficking, identified as Surukh Ali (40) of Mauguli village under Irani police station of Unakoti district on Sunday and produced him before a local court with police remand appeals. The court sent him for 3 days police remand and during interrogation, the investigation team got the information of a gang of four traffickers actively involved with trafficking of Bangladeshi and Rohingyas.
Police sources added that Surukh Ali and his associates had taken Rs. 5000 from each of Rohingya for their illegal entry into Tripura and after they crossed the international border in Kailashahar on July 2nd last, Surukh Ali sheltered them in his house and in the house of his in-laws.
On July 4th Surukh Ali and four other traffickers picked up a total of 17 Rohingyas and boarded them in auto-rickshaws to reach Dharmanagar town for their destination towards Guwahati.
But, when they reached Dharmanagar, police arrested them and brought them under police custody from a local court.
During interrogation of arrested Rohingyas, the investigation team found among the detainee, one Faizul Islam had nexus with militant activities and police has also found many photos in his mobile phones showing his involvement with terrorist activities.
Police sources added that they have launched a massive investigation to unearth details of all arrested Rohingyas and their involvement with terrorist activities. Police also launched a search operation to arrest four other human traffickers, who were responsible for trafficking of Rohingyas inside Indian territory.
