Arshiya get hat trick in Gold medal, Aaradhya also shine with Gold in Commonwealth Chess in Srilanka
Tripura’s chess prodigy Arshiya Das won three gold medals and Aaradhya Das also won gold in Commonwealth Youth Chess championship-2024 in Srilanka.
After winning two Gold medals in the Championship, Arshiya Das won her third Gold medal on Thursday in the classical chess category. Besides, she also clinched a Silver medal in the Open Chess competition.
Meanwhile, in the Under-10 category, after missing out on medals in blitz and rapid chess, Aradhya Das, the youngest female candidate Master from Northeast India, was unstoppable in classical chess from the beginning. She eventually emerged as the champion undefeated and won the gold medal. She scored 8.5 out of 9.
Arshiya in the under 14 girls category where she secured 6.5 points in 7 rounds of the game and won the gold for the country. On the other hand she has won the Silver medal in open category in Under-20 girls and in this category she has played 8 rounds and secured 4.5 points.
Arshiya Das had already won two gold medals a few days ago and the total prize money which she will receive is Rs 1.3 lakhs in Srilankan Currency, a trophy and the medal as well. Purnendu Das, father of Arshiya Das informed the same and added that she has won all the 7 games in the U-14 category again like last time and that made it an undefeated win. During these two events her ranking has increased by 60 points which is a big achievement as per her father.
The success of Arshiya and Aradhya has created a wave of cheers among the chess lovers of the state.
