Assam Rifles, DRI recover Yaba tablets, worth Rs. 6 Cr from Teliamura

In a major success against narcotics smuggling, Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), recovered 60,000 Yaba tablets from a vehicle in Teliamura under Khowai district of Tripura on Saturday.
The contraband was being carried in a car ( Maruti WagonR) bearing registration number AS 01-AV-1079. The approximate market value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be Rs 6 crore in the international market.
Two individuals were apprehended during the operation namely Dilbar Hussain, resident of Hailakandi of Assam and Md Juber Ahmad, resident of Karimganj, Assam
Assam Rifles through a press statement said that the apprehended individuals, along with the recovered narcotics, were handed over to the DRI for further investigation and legal proceedings. This operation underscores Assam Rifles’ continued efforts in combating drug trafficking.
