Assam Rifles participates in state-level mock exercise in Tripura
Reinforcing its commitment to public safety and disaster management, Assam Rifles took part in a state-level mock exercise held at Old Airport Building, Agartala on November 14. The focus of the exercise was on the preparedness, response and symbiosis of various agencies involved in disaster management at state level during a moderate to high intensity earthquake. The exercise was conducted by the State Disaster Management Authority in conjunction with the National Disaster Management Authority.
Assam Rifles deployed a range of teams to demonstrate drills of a prolonged search and rescue operation. In addition to this, Assam Rifles' Medical Aid Team along with fully equipped ambulance also worked in conjunction with the State Health Department to further boost the medical response at ground zero.
The exercise demonstrated coordinated efforts of specialized teams to disaster response. The Search and Rescue Team employed advanced methods for locating and extricating individuals in simulated disaster scenarios, while the Medical Aid Team provided immediate care to stimulating victims, displaying robust and responsive medical capabilities.
The exercise concluded with a debriefing session, reviewing strategies to improve regional disaster preparedness. Assam Rifles remains committed to supporting communities and maintaining a high level of readiness for natural disaster response.
