Astable road mishap: Injured girl died after 3 days of treatment

After battling for life for last three days at critical care unit of GB Hospital, the 17 years old girl, who along with his friend suffered grievous injuries, when their motorbike collided face on with a Maruti car at Astable area of Agartala, succumbed to death on Friday afternoon.

Police sources said that during a fatal road mishap on June 18 afternoon near the bridge of Astable at the busiest Agartala-Airport road, the deceased girl Rina Debbarma (17) along with his friend King Debbarma was moving towards Lichubagan area in heavy speed and they tried to cross the Astable bridge collided face on with a Maruti car, coming from opposite direction in heavy speed.

As a result, bike rider King Debbarma and his pillion rider Rina Debbarma suffered critical injuries and both of them were shifted to GB Hospital. But, on Friday afternoon Rina after battling for life for the last three days breathed her last due to her critical injuries. The condition of bike rider King Debbarma is also very critical.

Police said that a specific case has been registered and police also seized both offending vehicles. They also launched a search operation to arrest the accused Maruti car driver.
