Bangladeshi couple with kid, 4 Indian arrested from Agartala railway station
A Bangladeshi couple with their kid and four more Indian nationals were arrested from Agartala Railway station after Kanchanjungha Express arrived at the station from Kolkata.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of Government Railway Police (GRP) at Agartala railway station, Tapash Das said that GRP based on specific information of arrival of Bangladesh national at Agartala station through Kanchanjungha Express, the GRP along with RPF laid trap in the station.
When on Friday night Kanchanjungha Express arrived in the station from Sealdah, the security forces noticed suspicious movement of six persons, who were hurriedly leaving the platform of station, said Das and added that then they detained all six persons including a woman and a child.
During preliminary interrogation, they revealed their actual identify and the couple identified as Rupashree Rani Majumder of Comilla district of Bangladesh and her husband Sajal Chandra Baidya of Chandpur district of Bangladesh with their kid were returning from Kolkata through Kanchanjungha Express, who were travelling without any valid document. Four other Indian nationals identified as Laxman Sarkar, Dhijen Nama Das, Sanjit Saha and Suman Deb of South Joynagar area of Agartala under AD Nagar police station are the relatives of the Bangladeshi couple. All these Indians were also travelling with the Bangladesh couple and all of them were arrested, said Tapash Das.
He added that on Saturday all six arrested persons were produced before a local court for further legal proceedings.
