Bodies of two elderly men recovered, one murder

Though, four days of the festivities of Durga Puja passed off peacefully across Tripura barring few stray incidents, but, on the night ‘Maha Ashtami’ one septuagenarian man murdered at East Ganki area of Khowai district during buzzing party.
Police sources said that one Sridhar Tanti of East Ganki organized a buzzing party at his residence with his friends Mohan Tanti (65), Benu Tanti (56) and Rabindra Shukla Baidya (70). During the party, all of sudden issuing petty disputes, one of them had attacked at the head of Rabindra Shukla Baidya with a wooden file. As a result, Shukla Baidya was killed on the spot.
Later, Sridhar Tanti and others dumped the body at the roadside away from his house to evade evidence. After some local people noticed the body of a man lying in the road, they informed firefighters.
Firefighters rushed to the spot and sensing the incident a murder not any road mishap, firefighters informed the police.
Police shifted the body to a local hospital morgue and started an investigation. Initially, police arrested Sridhar Tanti and launched a search operation to arrest other miscreants involved with the incident.
In another incident, another body of another sexagenarian man was found in a ditch near his residence at Ram Durlabh Tea garden under Kamalpur police station of Dhalai district in mysterious condition.
Police said that the deceased man was identified as Abhimanyu Munda (60) of the same locality and by registering an unnatural death case, they started investigation to unearth the reason for his death.
