Border Guards seizes huge quantities of contraband
A Quick Reaction Team (QRT) of BSF seized huge quantities of foreign brand cigarettes from the border Radhapur area of Gomati district on Saturday.
BSF through a press statement said that in the night intervening 2nd & 3rd May 2025, on specific intelligence input BSF Quick Reaction Team chased and intercepted one Bolero Pick up vehicle model bearing Registration no TR-05-F-1736 near Paddapuker Radhhapur Shiv Mandir on NH -08.
Meanwhile Driver of the vehicle escaped. Two escort vehicles along the target vehicle, one Safari (front) and one Wagon (rear) , managed to escape. On thorough search of seized vehicle 150 cartoons consisting 15 lakh pieces of Foreign Brand Cigarettes ( Elegant, Super slim mond, Patron nano white) worth Rs 2.82 crore seized.
In another operation BSF troops of BOP Pathridwar under district West Tripura foiled a major attempt of smuggling and seized 3156 pieces of Mobile display worth Rs 22 Lakhs.
BSF has intensified vigil both on border and hinterland to prevent trans border crime.
