BSF busts narcotics smuggling racket in Tripura

The Border Security Force (BSF) continues its relentless efforts to curb cross-border smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura.
BSF through a press statement said that on Friday, acting on specific intelligence, a joint operation with the Customs Department, Sabroom, was conducted in the Ranibazar area under Sabroom Police Station of South Tripura district. During the operation, vigilant BSF troops successfully apprehended three suspects and seized approximately 100 kg of dry Ganja concealed in two light vehicles. All the suspects are residents of Sepahijala district.
In separate operations conducted at different locations across the state, BSF personnel also seized various contraband items worth approximately ₹57 lakh.
This operation underscores BSF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s borders and preventing transnational crimes. The force remains dedicated to dismantling narcotics networks and ensuring a drug-free Tripura.
