BSF foils attempts of trans border smuggling, seizes 15 cattle heads, detain one Bangladeshi
The alert troops of BSF Tripura, in various operations foiled attempts of smuggling through Indo- Bangladesh border and rescued 15 cattle heads in the night intervening August 3rd and 4th.
In one such incident alert BSF troops detected movement of cattle smugglers along with cattle in the area of Border Outpost(BOP) Bogabil in Khowai district of Tripura. On being challenged by BSF troops, trans border smugglers equipped with sharp edged weapon pelted stones on BSF troops.
To thwart the attempt of smuggling, adopting non lethal strategy, alert BSF troops fired 2 rounds from Pump Action Gun in prevention of trans border crime.
BSF through a press statement said that they has intensified operations and domination along the international border to prevent trans border crime.
In another operation, in an effort to prevent illegal crossings and Zero Tolerance Policy against infiltration at the Tripura border, the Border Security Force (BSF) has initiated a special drive to stop the infiltration and exfiltration of Bangladeshi nationals.
Acting on a specific information from BSF Intelligence, on August 4, 2024, BSF set up a Mobile Check Post (MCP) jointly with Police in general area under Amtali police station and apprehended one 18-year-old male Bangladeshi national.
BSF has launched an extensive operation to dismantle the network of middlemen operating in and around the border area to completely eliminate illegal crossings from International Border.
