BSF foils Infiltration bid, one Bangladeshi smuggler injured

Border Security Force (BSF) troops apprehended three Bangladesh BD nationals (2 transgender & 1 Male) from Dharmanagar border area under North Tripura district on Friday morning.
BSF of Tripura Frontier through a press statement said that apprehended Bangladesh nationals are resident of Gaibandha and Sunamganj district of Bangladesh.
In another operation three Indian nationals (male) were detained along with one truck loaded with Biri by troops of Border Outpost (BOP) Mike under Unakoti district.
In addition, in the intervening night of 16th & 17th January 2025, adopting non-lethal strategy BSF troops successfully foiled several attempts of smuggling and infiltration rescuing 7 cattle heads, huge quantity of Ganja (Cannabis) and other contraband items worth 30 lakhs.
Further on the intervening night of 14th & 15th January 2025, it is learnt that one Bangladeshi smuggler sustained pellet injury in BSF firing from non-lethal weapon in the area of BOP N C Nagar under Sepahijala district when a group of armed smugglers tried to attack BSF troops on duty and forcibly tried to smuggle contrabands.
BSF added that they are maintaining a high level of alertness on the international border to prevent infiltration and trans-border crimes.
