CBC organizes special awareness programme on Swachhta, Nasha Mukt Bharat at Kailashahar
A special awareness programme was held on Thursday at Irani Bazar in Kailashahar in Unakoti district, under the aegis of Kailashahar field office of Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Government of India. Awareness programmes and seminars highlighted various public welfare initiatives of the government such as Swachhata Hi Seva, Ek Ped Maa Ki Naam, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, and Mission LIFE.
In the awareness programs, panchayat and block level officials and functionaries, common citizens and staff of CBC took part in different awareness drives including cleanliness drives on the roads and markets and also joined the seminar on flagship awareness programs. The seminar was presided over by Smt Dilara Begum, Gram Pradhan of the panchayat. Shri Tajim Chakma, Additional BDO, Shri HK Chang, Field Publicity Assistant of CBC, and many dignitaries including, Upa-Pradhan Taleb Ali graced the program.
In his welcome address, HK Chang, Field Publicity Assistant CBC Kailshahar deliberated on various aspects, achievements and importance of awareness generation programmes of the Central Government. Shri Chakma, addl BDO highlighted the public welfare aspects and importance of various central schemes of the Government. To mark the occasion, trees were planted in the Irani market as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ki Naam and a cleanliness drive was undertaken under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Apart from this, an open quiz competition was also organized in which local people participated. Discussions were also held to create public awareness under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The seminar also highlighted evil aspects of illicit drugs and called for youth to come forward in the fight against drugs. Local participants expressed their view that this initiative of CBC is helpful in raising awareness among the local population and connecting the people with the government's programmes.
