Congress stages protest against Union Budget, accuses BJP of favoring Nitish and Naidu
All the frontal wings of Tripura Pradesh Congress on Friday staged a demonstration through a rally to show their protest against Union Budget-2024 and symbolic burning of budget documents.
All the frontal wings of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) including Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, NSUI organized a protest rally starting from Congress Bhavan and passes through various thoroughfares of Agartala city accusing central BJP government for a strategic move to appease the BJP’s coalition partners.
After the protest rally and symbolic burning of budget documents, Pradesh Youth Congress president Neel Kamal Saha speaking with media persons strongly criticized the budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
He said that the 2024-25 Union Budget is totally anti-farmers, anti-youths and an appeasement budget for two states Andhra Pradesh and Bihar and a budget for corporate appeasement.
He condemned the allocation of funds of Rs 26,000 crore to Bihar and Rs 15,000 crore to Andhra Pradeshand claimed that depriving other states of the country, these provisions are intended to secure political support from Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party to safeguard the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He also accused the BJP of preparing the budget to benefit its allies depriving other states.
The Budget-2024 is detrimental to farmers, youths, and the middle class, imposing additional taxes on essential items and making economic difficulties worse for the common people, said Saha.
He also claimed that this is a Budget of the Corporate, By the Corporate and for the Corporate and has nothing for the unemployed youths, the farmers and the middle-class.
“Narendra Modi led BJP government is well aware of its situation that if Naidu and Nitish remove their hands, the NDA government will collapse immediately and this is the reason, they undemocratically deprived other states of the country,” said Neel Kamal Saha.
The state president of Mahila Congress, Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty claimed that the Union Budget has been designed for the Corporates and has no signs of ‘Modi’s Acche Din’ for the common people.
