Dacoit, who escaped from police custody arrested, three cops suspended
One arrested thief, who was involved in a number of stealing and dacoity cases, fled from police from the lock-up of Kailashahar police station was arrested on Monday.
Police said that accused Asab Ali, who had fled from police remand from lockup of Kailashahar police station on Sunday afternoon after he went to the toilet and managed to escape from the spot.
Police sources said that after the escape incident, immediately a search operation was conducted throughout the district led by senior police officials and all the OCs of the district. Based on the search operation and the joint effort of all concerned, the escaped thief Asab Ali was caught on Monday morning and he was brought back to police custody.
Interrogation has continued and based on preliminary investigation, two police personnel were suspended for dereliction of duty and one SPO was also dismissed from service . Police added that an enquiry was started against the investigation officer (IO) of the case, which is in progress to find out more linkages.
