DGP reviewed pre-poll law & order situation, strict instructions issued against mischief-mongers
Director General of Police (DGP) has directed all police officials to take stringent actions against mischief-mongers and miscreants in the run up to the Panchayat elections.
The DGP of Tripura police, Amitabh Ranjan along with senior police officials on Wednesday attended a state level law and order review meeting was held at the conference room of SP of Dhalai district, Ambassa,, Ranjan stressed on coordinated efforts and intelligence-based actions to maintain peace and tranquility across the state.
The meeting, presided over by DGP Ranjan, included all the Superintendents of Police from Tripura’s eight districts. Among senior officers from the headquarters, Anurag, DG(Intelligence), Carey Marak, IGP(TSR), Manchak Ipper, DIG(Range) and DIG(Intelligence) Krishnendu Chakravertty were also present in the meeting.
Police sources said that the discussion focused on the state’s law and order situation and the preparedness of the police force for the upcoming Panchayat elections. Each District SP presented their preparatory actions to the DGP and other senior officers.
Law and Order situation of the state was discussed threadbare in view of ensuing Panchayat Election and preparedness of the force was taken into account. All the District SPs presented their preparatory actions before the DGP and other senior officers. DGP Ranjan emphasized on coordinated efforts and intelligence based actions. He clinically analyzed the recent Gandacherra turmoil where Police swung into action and brought the situation under control within a short span of time. DGP further sounded strong measures to be taken against the mischief -mongers and trouble makers. He emphasized in no uncertain terms that peace and tranquility should be maintained at any cost and CAPF, TSR should be utilised judiciously by District SPs to ensure the same. He categorically instructed District SPs to remain absolutely alert as far as Ethnic and Communal issues are concerned and must not allow any such situation to aggravate. DGP was categorical in instructing District SPs to personally visit the spot or scene of crime which is grave in nature.
In his discussion, DGP (Int) Anurag issued necessary instructions to District SPs in the run up of forthcoming Panchayat Election and specifically mentioned that each and every situation should be deftly handled by Police. He mentioned that coordination amongst CAPF/TSR/ Civil Police should be maximum.
DIGP (Range) and DIGP(Intelligence) also participated in the deliberations and shared vital information in connection with the Panchayat Election as well as the law and order situation of the state.
