In a successful anti-drug operation, the police personnel from East Agartala police station on Tuesday arrested a drug smuggler with large quantities of Brown Sugar from the busiest College Tilla area of the city.
Giving details, SP(West Tripura) Namit Pathak said that based on secret information, a contingent of police personnel from East Agartala police station led by SDPO (Sadar) Pannalal Sen and OC, Krishnadhan Sarkar raided at College Tilla area on Tuesday and managed to apprehend a noted drug smuggler.
During search, police recovered a total of 54 grams of Brown Sugar, worth of Rs. 15 lakh under his possession, said SP and added that accused drug smuggler will be produced before a local court with police remand appeal under a specific case of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 for interrogation to get details of their drug selling network.
