Eleven years old boy murdered by his aunt through poisoning in Boxanagar
In a tragic incident, an eleven years old boy died on Thursday battling for life for the past three days after he was allegedly poisoned with mango juice by his maternal aunty at Boxanagar area of Sepahijala district.
Sources said that the accused aunt has been identified as Jannat Akhtar. On Thursday afternoon, the child’s body was handed over to the family after an autopsy at GB Hospital.
Sources said that 11-year-old boy Alif Hossain had gone to visit his maternal uncle’s house some days ago. Three days ago, it is alleged that his aunt, Jannat Akhtar, mixed poison into mango juice and gave it to Alif. That night, his health began to deteriorate, and he was first taken to the Boxanagar Community Health Centre. From there, doctors referred him to Tripura Medical College (TMC) and after his condition deteriorated to a certain level, again the boy was referred to GB Hospital in critical condition.
After two days of treatment at the hospital, the child passed away on Thursday morning. Following the incident, the accused aunt reportedly fled from her in-laws’ house and took shelter at her parental home.
The family of the deceased has alleged that there had been ongoing domestic disputes between the aunt and uncle for quite some time. When the child’s father tried to intervene in the matter, the aunt allegedly poisoned the child by mixing poison in mango juice three days ago.
While, father of the deceased boy said that they filed a complaint at the local police station against the accused woman.
Meanwhile, the tragic death of the young child has cast a shadow of mourning over the entire locality.
