First intra-university moot court competition in NLU,Tripura
The National Law University (NLU), Tripura successfully conducted its 1st Intra-University Moot Court Competition from June 28-29, 2024.
The competition featured a structured format comprising four rounds: Prelims I, Prelims II, Semi-Final and Final.
The NLU, Tripura through a press statement said that the judging panels for each round were composed of esteemed professionals and academics from various institutions, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives and expertise. The Semi-Final round was judged by Adv. Biswajit Bhattacharjee, Dr. Nabarun Bhattacharjee, Associate Professor of ICFAI University, Tripura, Dr. Sthiti Dasgupta and Dr. Partha Sarathi Adya, Asst. Professor of Tripura Govt. Law College.
The esteemed bench for the final round included Mr. Bibhas Kilikdar, retired District Judge of Tripura, and Mr. Ashotosh Pandey, Director, Tripura Judicial Academy. The winning team comprised of Mr. Siddharth Singh Chauhan, Mr. Rashmikant Ojha and Mr. Rishabh Kumar. Further, Mr. Ayush Jain, Mr. Ripujoy Chakraborty and Mr. Pranav Narayan Mishra were declared as the runners up. Ms. Aishikee Biswas won the award for the best researcher and Mr. Arpit Patel won the best speaker title.
This Intra-University Moot Court Competition holds immense significance for law school students as it serves as a foundational experience in their legal education journey and teams selected from this competition will represent University in various national and international Moot Court Competitions. The competition was successfully completed under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor, NLUT, Dr. Nachiketa Mittal, Registrar, Dr. Debasree Debnath, Faculty Advisor, Moot Court Committee, Mr. Nehru and Ms. Sakshi, Ph.D. Scholars, NLUT.
