Four drug peddlers with Brown Sugar arrested by Agartala police
In continuation of anti-drug operations in different parts of Agartala, the city police again on Tuesday arrested four drug peddlers and recovered large quantities of Brown Sugar under their possessions.
Giving details, SDPO(Sadar) Debaprasad Roy said that in continuation of their anti-drug operation, the OC of East Agartala police station Rana Chatterjee along with his teams on Tuesday arrested four drug peddlers from Lalmatia, Dhaleshwar and Ashram Chowmuhani areas under the same police station and seized a total 25 vials of Brown Sugar under their possessions.
Police has also recovered another packet of Brown Sugar weighing 9 grams from their hideout and a total 15 grams Brown Sugar, worth of approximately Rs. 2 lakh, said Roy and added that during raids, police has also seized one motorbike, one Scooty and an auto-rickshaw from them, which were being used by the drug peddlers for their trade network.
He said arrested drug peddlers were identified as Abdul Hussain, Pintu Miah, Amitabha Majumder and Mithun Majumder and all arrested peddlers were also produced before a local court in a specific case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 with police remand appeals for interrogation.
