Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday  said that by 2030, India will be in third place in terms of the economy, and youth and students are one of the main sources of hope to take the country forward.

He said that the government is also working for the development of local and minority languages.

Dr Saha said this while participating in the tribal student conference of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Rabindra Bhavan in Agartala today.

Dr Saha said that after coming here today and seeing the heavy presence of students, it seems that Tripura will definitely be the best Tripura in the future.

“Youth between the ages of 18 and 35 are the future of our country. Based on this 65% of the population, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is thinking of strengthening the country. He is dreaming about these youth between the ages of 18 and 35 in all matters, including the security of the country, socio-economic development, and infrastructure development. That is why the Prime Minister is talking about Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas. I can see a glimpse of this here today,” said Dr Saha.

In the discussion, the Chief Minister said that the presence of representatives of this student organization in all the colleges of the state needs to be strengthened.

“In the 70s, during the communist era, no one could say when a bomb would fall in schools and colleges. Students were told to leave schools and colleges and participate in the red revolution. In this way, generations after generations were destroyed,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr Saha also said that after Narendra Modi took office as the Prime Minister in 2014, a stable situation has come to the country. But what was the condition of the country before that?

The Chief Minister said that each of us should love the country first.

“We should not limit ourselves to just studies but should think about the country. There is a sense of satisfaction in various social activities, including Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and blood donation programs, which is not available anywhere else. Now a lot can be learned through AI (Artificial Intelligence). This year's budget has also made concessions for AI. The Prime Minister says that you can take help from AI, but you cannot completely rely on it. Earlier, India was ranked 11th in terms of the economy. From that position, the country is now in fourth place, which will rise to third place by 2030. We have to become strong through knowledge as well. We have to maintain our cultural and traditional heritage,” he said.

The Chief Minister also said that this government has given one of the highest priorities to the overall development of the tribal people.

“We want the development of the Kokborok-speaking people because until they read or learn in their own language, they cannot be properly understood. We are also trying to develop minority languages, including local languages,” he added.

The conference was attended by Higher Education Minister Kishor Burman, former MP Rebati Tripura, ABVP All India General Secretary Kamlesh Singh, State President Prof. Dr. Debraj Panigrahi, Tirtharam Reang, State Secretary of the organization Ravi Shankar Halder, Arjun Tripura, and other leaders.
