Govt to appoint 1,615 more PGT, GT to address shortage in schools: Sushanta Chowdhury
After an important cabinet meeting, Tripura government has decided to recruit altogether 1,615 Graduate and Post-Graduate teachers across schools of the state to address the shortage of teachers in government-run schools.
Addressing a press conference at Civil Secretariat in Agartala on Tuesday afternoon, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that among fresh recruitment of 1,615 teachers, , 915 teachers will be post-graduates for Class-11 and Class-12, he said.
The cabinet headed by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha cleared the proposal for filling up 915 post-graduate teachers and 700 graduate teachers (Class-9 and Class-10) to address the shortage of teaching personnel, said Chowdhury.
He said the Teachers’ Recruitment Board of Tripura (TRBT) will appoint the post-graduate teachers and 700 graduate teachers as per recruitment rules (RR) of existing recruitment process of the Secondary education department. He said that candidates having 50% marks in their post-graduate with B.Ed will be eligible for the recruitment drive by TRBT.
Chowdhury said the cabinet also approved a proposal seeking recruitment to 37 posts of different categories, including professors, associate professors, and deputy registrar for the National Law University (NLU) and all these recruitment of 37 posts will be conducted by NLU.
He also said that cabinet also approved the proposal for filling up of six-medical officers (Dental) under Health and Family Welfare department and recruitment process will be completed through Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
