Holy Cross College celebrates 13th Graduation Day
Holy Cross College located at the Lembucherra area here in Agartala on Saturday celebrated its Thirteenth Graduation Day at its Jubatara campus, marking a significant milestone with the graduation of over 400 students, including the first batch of postgraduates in English and Political Science.
The ceremony, which commenced at 10 am with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, was graced by Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice Chancellor of Tripura University, as the Chief Guest. In his commencement speech, Prof. Prasain encouraged graduates to uphold the values instilled by Holy Cross College as they embark on their professional journeys.
Among the notable achievements, five students from the Departments of Sociology, Business Administration, and Commerce emerged as rank holders in the 6th Semester examinations conducted by Tripura University. The event featured the distribution of medals and certificates to the graduating students.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Benny K. John, CSC, Principal of Holy Cross College, delivered the welcome address, while Rev. Fr. Abraham K.J., CSC, President of the Holy Cross Educational Foundation, congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments. The ceremony was enriched by cultural performances, including a welcome dance by students Moumita and Shreyashi, and a traditional Mamita dance by David and his group.
Two student representatives, Sangita Neogi and Pohor Debbarma from the Batch of 2023-2024, shared their experiences and expressed gratitude to the faculty and staff. Ms. Tapashi Saha, Head of the Department of Teacher Education, reflected on the achievements of the graduating class.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sharmistha Rakshit, Convener of the College Graduation Day Committee, followed by the National Anthem. The event marked a significant achievement for Holy Cross College, particularly with its expanding postgraduate programs and consistent academic excellence.
