Holy Cross School celebrates Grandparents Day 2025 by upholding family values

Holy Cross School of Agartala, renowned for its commitment to holistic education, proudly hosted its biennial Grandparents Day celebration, honouring grandparents’ vital role in shaping young minds and nurturing family values.
This year’s theme, “A Tribute to the Generations of Love and Wisdom,” highlighted the evolving dynamics of intergenerational relationships in today’s fast-changing world. As technological advancements transform communication, learning, and living, the event celebrated the adaptability, wisdom, and enduring support of grandparents who bridge the gap between tradition and modernity.
Distinguished dignitaries, including Gerry Arathoon, former Chief Executive and Secretary of Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ISCE), as Chief Guest graced the occasion. Guests of Honour included Rev. Bishop Lumen Monteiro CSC, DD, Rev. Abraham KJ, and Sanit Deb Roy, Chief Editor of Ajker Fariad and social activists, alongside special guests Rev. Clement Amo CSC, Vicar Holy Cross NEI; Rev. George Jacob, Secretary of Holy Cross Educational Foundation; Rev. Alfred D Souza CSC, Administrator, Holy Cross NEI; and Mr. Paul S Darlong, Grandparent Representative.
Students from Nursery to Class IV captivated the audience with vibrant music, dance, and drama performances. Their creativity and enthusiasm brought smiles and pride to the grandparents’ faces, while the colourful stage program explored themes of culture, family bonds, technological evolution, and generational challenges.Behind the scenes, our teachers’ dedicated teamwork, meticulous choreography, and artistic talents brought these performances to life, earning admiration from all present.
Keynote speakers lauded Holy Cross School’s initiative and emphasized the importance of intergenerational connections. They underscored the invaluable lessons and love grandparents impart to their families, even as their roles adapt in the modern era. The celebration concluded with cherished moments and fond memories that left a lasting impression on all attendees. Appreciation to the entire Holy Cross crew for their teamwork and outstanding performance.
