Housewife commits suicide due to continuous atrocities from her husband
A Housewife committed suicide by consuming pesticides allegedly to get rid off from atrocities committed by her husband.
Sources said that one Rajib Datta of Sonamura, a government employee of District and Session Judge court of Agartala had married Punam Majumder in 2019 and they had a three old boy also.
On Thursday Punam after suffered continuous atrocities from her husband had committed suicide by consuming pesticides and after the incident noticed by other inmates of the house, she was shifted to GB Hospital in critical condition and during treatment on Saturday morning, she succumbed to death.
During an autopsy at GB Hospital morgue, the mother and brother of Punam Majumder alleged that since 2019 after her marriage, Punam continuously suffered tremendous atrocities from husband and on Friday , her husband had also physically assaulted her.
They also alleged that when she was unable to tolerate atrocities and physical harassment committed by her husband, she committed suicide.
The family members of the victim housewife demanded justice and claimed that they will lodge an FIR against her husband Rajib Datta, who often demands dowry from his in-laws.
