INTACH with ADC to celebrate 116th birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram
The INTACH Tripura Chapter, in collaboration with the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) will celebrate the 116th birth anniversary celebration of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur and the commemorative event will be held at the Nuia auditorium in Khumulwng on Sunday and culminate on his birthday on 19th August, 2024.
Sources said that during the programme dignitaries and guests present will include the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, royal scion and supremo of Tipra-Motha Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, Vice Chancellor of Tripura University, MP Kriti Devi and CEM, Chairman and members of ADC, students and the public.
Sources added that the celebration will feature several events that reflect the legacy and contributions of Maharaja Bir Bikram, including the 116th birth anniversary celebration programme on August 18th.
In addition to the main programme, the highlight is a photographic exhibition, featuring the life and time of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya where one will be able to see rare photos and documents including his personal items.
Besides traditional crafts and food stalls, a souvenir stall will be available from August 18th and 19th at the same venue.
The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) through a press statement said that these activities aim to honour the Maharaja’s vision and impact on the cultural heritage of Tripura and provide attendees with an immersive experience.
