Jiten, Sudip condemned YTF’s office lock agitations, claimed it ‘drama’
Leader of Opposition (LoP) and CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury, who earlier criticized the act of DM (Gomati), but simultaneously condemned the act of Youth TIPRA Federation (YTF) activities and locking of many offices in Gomati district on Monday.
"This is totally unwise, during peak office hours, YTF activities locked many offices and caused tremendous suffering for government employees and general people,” said Chaudhury and added that it’s a very bad precedent.
He said that after May 25 evening, when DM of Gomati district , Tarit Kanti Chakma refused to meet Tipra-Motha’s supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma and another people representative of ADC administration is also condemnable, but in the name of protest, what have done by YTF activities is not acceptable.
He also said that when Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha assured that for taking action against DM’s misbehavior and investigation by Chief Secretary, the Motha supporters should wait till the final report from Chief Secretary.
While, claiming Monday’s agitation by youth wing of ruling BJP’s ally Tipra Motha in front of the office of the District Magistrate (DM) of Tripura’s Gomati district and locked the main gate of the office for around three hours demanding action against DM Tarit Kanti Chakma, a drama, senior Congress leader and MLA Sudip Roy Barman also strongly condemned the act.
“It’s very unfortunately, Tipra-Motha simultaneously enjoining the power of state government as coalition partner and creating ruckus by halting state’s administration works in the name of their so-called ‘lock office’ agitation,” said Sudip and asked why Tipra Motha and YTF created public nuisance on Monday. He said that as a political party Congress has also condemned acts by DM, but why Tipra-Motha and YTF today created nuisance and hampered public administration, they should withdraw their support from government, they should go against government through their agitation.
