Khowai police recovered large quantities of Ganja from a Luxury car, one held

In another successful operation, Khowai district police on Tuesday managed to seize large quantities of dry Ganja (Cannabis) from a luxury car on the way to Agartala to Guwahati.
Police sources said that based on secret information, police on Tuesday afternoon detained a luxury car (TR-01-CA00319) at Belfung police Naka point, which was moving from Agartala towards Guwahati.
During a search in the car, police recovered a total of 49.5 kilograms of dry Ganja from different hidden chambers of the car including from a CNG tank. Police arrested the accused driver, identified as Gopal Das of Sidhai area of West Tripura district under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
Police sources added that they have initiated an investigation to find out details of the inter-state drug smuggling network and hoped that soon they will be able to arrest more drug peddlers involved with the network.
