Major haul of drugs, 3 inter-state smugglers arrested with Yaba tablets from a city hotel

In a major haul of drugs, Agartala city police has busted a big network of inter-state drug smugglers and by conducting a raid in a city hotel has arrested three drug smugglers and seized Yaba tablets, worth of Rs. 5.5 crore on Friday evening.
Giving details, SP(West) Kiran Kumar said that based on secret information a team of police personnel from East Agartala police station led by SDPO(Sadar) Debaprasad Roy and OC of East Agartala police station Rana Chatterjee raided at hotel ‘Woodland Park’ at Math Chowmuhani area of the city on Friday evening.
During the police has spoiled a biggest narcotic trade inside the hotel and managed arrest a kingpin of inter-state drug network , identified as Sahidul Hussain Talukar of Silchar town of Assam and his two accomplice, identified as Nayanmani Namasudra of Kachucherra and Biswajit Biswas of Salema area of Dhalai district, said Kumar and added that police has recovered a trolly bag under their possession.
In the course of searching the bag, police recovered a total of 11 packets containing 10,000 each Yaba Tablets, a total of 1.10 lakh Yaba tablets, worth Rs. 5.5 crore, said SP.
He said that a specific case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 has been registered against three drug smugglers and they will be produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
SP hoped that during interrogation, police will also unearth the roots of the inter-state drug network and will also be able to arrest other associates of these three drug smugglers.
