Major theft in absence of house owner at Bankumari
Amidst growing stolen incidents across the state, suspected thieves have looted all valuable things including gold, cash and important documents from a family in Bankumari area of Agartala on Sunday night, when house owner and his wife was busy with attending their sick daughter at ICU of a hospital.
Sources said that one Biswanath Ghosh of Bankumari Hospital road under East Agartala police station was busy with his wife to attend their daughter by locking their home, who has been admitted in a hospital at the city and shifted her ICU due to her critical illness.
When, on Monday morning both husband and wife returned back to their home, they noticed that the lock of the main door was broken and after entering inside the house, they noticed the horrible conditions of all rooms and thieves have broken all almirahs and all household things are upside-down.
They also noticed that thieves have looted all gold jewelleries, valued in lakhs , cash amount of about Rs. 20,000, all important documents and stolen all coins, cash from donation box inside ‘Thakur Ghar (prayer room).
Amidst hue and cry, neighbours and local people rushed to the spot and they informed the police of the incident.
Police sources said that they have recorded statements of the house owner and started investigation to trace suspected thieves, responsible for this theft incident. While, toll Monday night, police were unable to trace any of the suspected thieves.
