Man arrested with dual passports from ICP-Kailashahar

A man with dual passports was arrested from Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Kailashahar under Unakoti district after he landed at the immigration centre from Bangladesh.
Giving details, police said that one man identified as Ripan Das entered the ICP-Kailashahar from Bangladesh on Sunday afternoon through his Indian Passport and during the checking of his luggages, the authorities found another passport of Bangladesh.
After the incident, the in-charge of ICP-Kailashahar, Niranjan Majumder lodged a complaint at Kailashahar police and police subsequently arrested Ripan Das.
Police added that they have started an investigation to unearth the originality of both passports and as per investigation; police will take legal action against him. As per Indian Constitution, an Indian can obtain only one passport and he or she will be allowed to carry a passport of any other country, said police.
