Manipur students interact with Governor under National Integration tour by Assam Rifles
Students as part of National Integration tour organized by Assam Rifles interacted with Tripura Governor, Indrasena Reddy Nallua at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. The tour is being organized by Assam Rifles the students of various remote schools in Jiribam district of Manipur from September 2 to 11.
The tour, spanning over a period of nine days, was flagged off from Assam Rifles Headquarters at Srikona, Assam on September 2nd. A total of 16 boys and 19 girl students from classes 8th to 10th hailing from various communities along with their teachers are part of the tour. During the tour, students will be visiting various places of cultural and educational significance at Agartala, Shillong, Guwahati and Tezpur.
On arrival at Agartala, students got the opportunity to meet the Governor of Tripura who encouraged the students to remain dedicated to education and explore opportunities to achieve their dreams. The Governor interacted with students and answered their queries regarding various subjects. The experience made a lasting impression on young minds. Senior officials from Assam Rifles formation in Agartala welcomed the students to explore the beautiful state of Tripura. Students, thereafter, visited Ujjayanta Palace and were made aware about its historical importance.
The National Integration Tour is aimed to broaden the horizons of young students of remote areas by giving them an opportunity to visit different places and gain knowledge about various cultures. The visit to educational institutions will further generate awareness amongst the students so as to enable them to make better career choices post completion of school. The integration tour is being conducted as part of Operation Sadbhavna to give better educational opportunities to students from remote areas. The tour also aims to boost the spirit of patriotism and national pride amongst the participants.
